Movie: Everything Everywhere All At Once

I really love this movie. I watch it at least once a year and every time it's amazing. From the storytelling to the cinematography, I simply adore it. It's not a perfect movie (nothing is), but it's truly one of my favorites. The message of love and acceptance from family, understanding that the life that we have now has its positives, and the power of kindness being stronger than anything else is truly heartwarming. Raymond Wang is one of my favorite characters in fiction and I hope one day I can be just as kind as him. Finally one of my favorite quotes is from the movie: "In another life, I would have really liked just doing laundry and taxes with you".

Video Game: Outer Wilds

While this is a newer addition to the long roster of video games I really adore, I simply fell in love with it from the start. The music and visuals of a video game are extremely important to me and Annapurna Interactive Studios outdid themselves once again. Gameplay wise, exploring a galaxy to discover the truth of a time loop (sorry spoilers!) is already deeply interesting but the game has so much more to discover beyond that. The fleshed out lore behind the alien race, the physics engine behaving exactly as you would expect it to, and the rewarding gameplay for both experts and beginners truly make this a wonderful gaming experience. While it's not a game I go back to all the time, every time I do I'm star struck.

Sport: Volleyball

Admittedly, I was not too interested in Volleyball at first. I had never played sports in middle school, nor had I even watched them. Even in high school, I only played tennis at my dad's insistence. However, sometime in my junior year, I joined my friends for a volleyball game since they needed an extra person. From that moment, I've enjoyed the thrill of being on the court. While I'm not particularly skilled in the sport or immensely athletic, I always find myself enjoying myself as long as I can play. The rush I feel as I approach the net and jump at the perfect time, in synch with the setter to the exact second. Feeling the hard exterior of the ball slapping my palm and exploding off to the other side, that's a rush to die for.
